Last updated: 31 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DOJOTAP (“DOJOTAP”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the DOJOTAP platform, including our website located at dojotap.com and any related websites, applications, content, products, services, or features that we may make available from time to time (together, the “Platform”).

DOJOTAP operates a global marketplace platform that enables Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to discover, book, and pay for drop-in classes and private training sessions offered by gyms and independent instructors around the world. In order to operate the Platform, facilitate bookings, process payments, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, provide customer support, and maintain the security and integrity of the Platform, we process certain personal information relating to users of the Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

The Platform is intended solely for individuals aged 18 or over. DOJOTAP does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that personal information relating to a person under the age of 18 has been collected through the Platform, we may suspend or terminate the relevant account and delete the associated information where appropriate.

1. What DOJOTAP Does

DOJOTAP is a global marketplace platform that connects Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners (“Grapplers”) with gyms and independent instructors (“Suppliers”) offering training sessions, classes, seminars, and related services.

The Platform enables Grapplers to browse listings, make bookings, submit payments, receive booking confirmations, and leave reviews relating to completed sessions. Suppliers may create listings, manage schedules, receive payouts, manage bookings, communicate booking information, and manage profile and business information through the Platform.

Suppliers remain independent businesses or individuals and are not employees, representatives, agents, or partners of DOJOTAP.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information directly from users, automatically through use of the Platform, and from certain third-party service providers necessary to operate the Platform.

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account or use the Platform, we may collect information including your name, email address, account role, country or region, login credentials, and profile information.

Depending on how you use the Platform, additional information may be collected including profile photographs, belt rank, home gym, biography information, language preferences, pricing information, timetable information, facilities information, training specialities, listing descriptions, and location information relating to a gym or instructor listing.

When bookings are made through the Platform, we collect and generate booking and transaction information including booking references, booking type, booking status, scheduled session information, pricing information, cancellation details, refund information, payout information, dispute information, and communications relating to bookings made through the Platform.

Users may also submit reviews, ratings, messages, support requests, enquiries, and other content through the Platform.

If you contact DOJOTAP directly, we may collect your name, email address, message contents, and related correspondence records.

2.2 Payment Information

Payments made through the Platform are processed through Stripe and Stripe Connect.

DOJOTAP does not store complete payment card details, card numbers, CVC codes, or payment card expiry dates on DOJOTAP servers. However, we may store limited payment-related metadata and identifiers made available to us by Stripe, including payment intent identifiers, transfer identifiers, refund identifiers, dispute identifiers, card brand, and partial card information such as the final four digits of a payment card.

Suppliers may provide identity verification information, banking information, payout information, and related compliance information directly to Stripe as part of Stripe Connect onboarding and payout administration.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you access or use the Platform, certain technical and usage-related information may be collected automatically by DOJOTAP or our service providers.

This may include IP address information, browser type, operating system information, language preferences, device information, authentication logs, session information, referral URLs, approximate geographic information, and information relating to interactions with the Platform.

We may also collect limited information relating to browsing behaviour, Platform usage, referral sources, and interactions with Platform features for analytics, operational, fraud prevention, and performance monitoring purposes.

2.4 Cookies and Tracking Technologies

DOJOTAP and certain third-party partners may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate, secure, analyse, and improve the Platform, measure advertising performance, and support marketing and retargeting activities.

These technologies may be used by DOJOTAP and third-party providers including analytics providers, advertising partners, customer engagement providers, and infrastructure providers.

Further information regarding DOJOTAP’s use of cookies and similar technologies is available in our Cookie Policy.

In certain circumstances, personal information may also be processed to comply with legal obligations, accounting requirements, tax obligations, regulatory obligations, law enforcement requests, court orders, or legal proceedings.

Where required under applicable law, DOJOTAP relies on one or more lawful bases for processing personal information, including the performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests, and consent where applicable.

4. How We Share Personal Information

DOJOTAP may share personal information with certain third parties and service providers where necessary to operate the Platform and provide related services.

If DOJOTAP is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing transaction, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

DOJOTAP does not sell personal information in exchange for monetary compensation. However, certain advertising, analytics, or marketing activities involving third-party cookies or tracking technologies may constitute “sharing” or similar processing under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

5. International Transfers

DOJOTAP is based in the United Kingdom but operates internationally and uses service providers located in multiple jurisdictions, including the United States and other countries outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area (“EEA”).

As a result, personal information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as the United Kingdom or the EEA.

Where required under applicable law, DOJOTAP takes appropriate measures to ensure that international transfers of personal information remain protected through recognised legal mechanisms and safeguards, including contractual protections and approved transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent arrangements where applicable.

Certain booking, transaction, payout, accounting, dispute, and fraud-prevention records may be retained for extended periods where necessary for legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, or operational purposes.

Where personal information is no longer required, DOJOTAP may delete, anonymise, or securely archive that information in accordance with applicable law and operational requirements.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and applicable law, you may have certain rights relating to your personal information.

These rights may include the right to request access to personal information held by DOJOTAP, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of information, request restriction of processing, object to certain processing activities, request portability of information, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
